Call for paper: BTSym'24 - Satellite Event Ecuador

Dear Researchers,

The BTSym'24 organizing committee cordially invites scholars to participate and submit papers addressing current research topics of interest. Scheduled for November 14th to 15th, 2024, the event will span two days and take place at the Instituto Universitário Rumiñahui, Rumiñahui, Ecuador, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. 

Proceedings of the event will be published by the Springer Nature publisher under the book series "Smart Innovation, Systems, and Technologies" as part of the 10th Brazilian Technology Symposium - Emerging Trends and Challenges in Technology.

Indexing: The books of this series "Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies" are submitted to ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink.

Call for Papers

The Brazilian Technology Symposium (BTSym'24) serves as a premier platform for the presentation and discussion of the latest research projects and developments across various fields of knowledge within the scientific and technological domains.

We invite researchers, students, and professionals from both academic and industrial sectors to submit:

Instruction for Author

Publication Options

For papers submitted and accepted to BTSym’24, we exclusively offer the option of publication in the Conference Proceedings of Springer Nature. After peer review by at least 2-3 experts, all accepted papers will be published in the International Proceedings by Springer Nature, in the form of a book.

Submission Guidelines 

  • All papers must be written preferably in English for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings of BTSym’24. The paper content, including text, figures, tables, and references, must fit within 10 pages. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • For the preparation of their manuscripts, all authors are strongly encouraged to adhere to Springer's author formatting rules. The Author Guidelines document provides detailed instructions on arranging a proceedings paper and formatting elements such as headings, figures, and references using specified styles. Additionally, authors should utilize the provided templates for manuscript creation: 

  • For papers submitted, the final version of a Full papers (.pdf, .doc) will be accepted via electronic submission through the following link: https://equinocs.springernature.com/service/Btsym24. In the Category section, please choose the ECUADOR Option followed by the relevant research topic.

  • All papers must represent original work that has not been previously published in another journal or publication, is not under consideration by any other journal or publication, and does not violate any existing copyright or third-party rights. Plagiarism detection software will be employed to scan and assess all submissions. Papers found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected. Turnitin, a reputable plagiarism detection tool, will be utilized to check for similarities, with a threshold not exceeding 15%, including the reference section.

  • At least one of the authors is required to register and present the paper at the conference. We recommend a maximum of five (5) authors per paper. Please note that once the article is submitted and the deadline has passed, changes to the list of authors or their order are not possible. If the work is approved, this information will be used for the final publication. Additionally, each author is limited to a maximum of two submissions to the BTSym'24, whether as an author or co-author

  • Author Ethics and Copyright: To uphold objectivity and transparency in research and adhere to accepted principles of ethical and professional conduct, authors must provide information on sources of funding, disclose potential conflicts of interest (both financial and non-financial), furnish informed consent if human participants were involved in the research, and include a statement on the welfare of animals if applicable. Submissions lacking these ethical considerations will be rejected, and such papers will be excluded from the Conference Proceedings.   • Policy on Plagiarism: Plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional, occurs when ideas, figures, data, or creative work are used without proper citation in academic, professional, and personal contexts. It is essential to appropriately cite the original work to maintain academic integrity. Recognizing the demand for high-quality scholarly research, we take proactive measures to identify and prevent research misconduct, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, data falsification/fabrication, and self-plagiarism. Please note that all submitted manuscripts undergo thorough plagiarism checks using licensed software such as Turnitin to ensure adherence to ethical standards.

 Paper Review Process

  • All submissions will undergo peer review, evaluating their originality, technical and/or research depth, correctness, relevance to the conference theme, contributions, and readability. Submissions will be selected based on their technical merit, interest, applicability, and their contribution to creating a coherent and balanced technical program. Upholding ethical conduct is paramount in academic endeavors. Therefore, any act of plagiarism is considered unacceptable academic misconduct and will not be tolerated.

  • Authors will receive feedback in the form of a peer review report. The paper peer review process and its outcomes, as presented in the review reports, will be closely monitored and verified by the editorial committee.

 Oral Presentation

  • The BTSym 2024 official language is English and Spanish. However, authors may present their papers in Spanish.

  • All approved submissions will be invited to make an oral presentation with approximate time of 15 minutes, as speaker in the BTSym'24 discussion panels (in development).

  • Authors and Attendees will receive BTSym'24 certificates.
